Accommodation:
Woodbridge
Woodbridge has an eclectic range of accommodation but is mostly of the holiday cottage variety so your usual suspects are www.airbnb.com or Suffolk Secrets
Our lovely local, The Bull Inn has rooms, is set right on Market Hill, a short walk from Woodbridge station & is great for a warm up drink.
The Crown is also a short walk from Woodbridge station & has a nice bar & breakfast.
The Station Guesthouse probably wins best breakfast accommodation wise & is right by the station, riverside & opposite The Anchor pub.
If you want something fancy, go to Seckford Hall, just outside town.
Ufford Park is about a 7 min drive from Woodbridge & is on a golf course & has a pool.
The nearest Premier Inn is about a 10 min drive to Woodbridge & about 20 to Old Jet. Taxi would prob be about £15-£20 on a Saturday night.
Surrounds closer to Bentwaters
There are plenty of lovely little villages closer to Bentwaters with accommodation such as:
The Old Rectory which is very close to Campsea Ashe train station & near The Duck which is a great little pub with excellent food.
The Ship is in the tiny village of Blaxhall & has a lovely folk session on a Sunday if you’re that way inclined. Great beer, very rustic.
Travel:
Woodbridge has a railway station right in the middle of town. It’s about 90 mins-2 hours from Liverpool Street, changing at Ipswich.
Driving seems to take 2h-2h30 from anywhere near/within the M25 when it’s not rush hour & about 2.5 weeks from anywhere west of Reading.
